There is almost no limitation on how you can promote your affiliate products on social media. Whenever you share your products, you can potentially earn a commission. However, the most important aspect of your marketing, is that you get people to engage with the product you are promoting. But, how can you get them to do that?

Here are 6 simple methods to get people to engage with your affiliate promotions.

1. Make Posts in Groups

Most social networks have some kind of groups or spaces, that focuses on a specific topic. You’ll need to find as many of these groups as possible, that’s relevant to your niche. In these groups, you can post questions, solutions, stories, links, and much more. This is a great way to engage with people and help them discover your affiliate products.

Before you make the post, make sure that you are not in violation of the group rules. Additionally, it can be a good idea to start engaging with other posts, before publishing your own, to bring some value, and built a tolerance for your promotions.

When you make the post, it’s always a good idea to include a video or image in the post, to help grab the visitors’ attention. You can write the text in many ways but it often works best when you use storytelling and talk about your experience. The more curiosity you can spark, the more likely people are to read and engage with your post.

2. Comment on Posts

This is probably the easiest way to get started because you don’t need to come up with new posts or grab attention in the same way. Whenever someone comments, all the people that follow the post will get a notification.

Comment on the posts as well as other people’s comments is a great opportunity to engage with people. Share your insights on the topics and help people find solutions to their problems with affiliate products.

However, it’s a good idea not just to share affiliate products but also just share valuable info from time to time. The more people you help, the higher the chance will be that someone trusts you and buy an affiliate product that you are promoting.

Direct messaging (DM) is probably the most effective way to promote affiliate products on social media for free. This allows you to talk directly to people without any noise or admins watching you. However, you shouldn’t just contact everyone on social media with your affiliate promotions.

This method works great together with the 2 methods above. Encourage people to DM you in the posts you make or when you make comments. Whenever you get someone to DM you, you have a direct line to someone who might want to buy the products you promote. You can also send DM to the people that comment on your posts or the people you make comments to.

When you contact someone with DM, you should never send the link in your first message. You don’t want it to feel like you are spamming people. But tell them that you have been a similar situation to them and that you think you can help them. Then ask them if they are interested in fixing their issue. When they say yes, you can send them more information about how the product helped you with the link to the affiliate product.

4. Create New Group

This method is a long-term strategy that can be very effective if you can create a community with engaged users. Basically, you’ll need a main topic for the group and then supply relevant content and updates every day. However, you’ll have to use time on managing the group to make sure that people are being nice to each other and nobody is spamming the group.

Having a group is a great opportunity to share posts with a wide range of sub-topics, share niche updates, and more. You’ll get the best results if you focus on bringing value to the community rather than just promoting affiliate products. Encourage people to share posts and be part of the community.

Pages are a bit different than groups. These are often made for a business instead of creating a community of like-minded people. If you have a website for your affiliate business, then a page could be a great way to promote it. This will help you create authority on the social platform and start creating fans of your website. You’ll get a new way to communicate with them and a place for them to interact with you and others.

A page is a great place to share your blog posts, news about your business and niche/industry, affiliate products, and more. The page is your own space, where you create all the content. Your focus should be on creating content that brings value to people and get them to engage with it.

On Facebook, you can invite all your friends to join your page, where they have to accept the invitation to like your page. You can also integrate the Facebook page on your website, to get your website visitors to like it. Since organic growth is limited, you might need to create some ads to get more likes for your page. These campaigns are generally cheap but will require some money to run.

6. Create Ads (Paid)

This is the only method that is paid in this guide. It will require you to spend some money but it also guarantees results. You can on most social media platforms choose PPC Ads (Pay-Per-Click), so you only pay every time someone clicks your ad. Another option is to pay per view, which can be better sometimes.

There are basically 2 ways to run ads on social media for affiliate marketing. You can run ads that promote your social media page or your website landing pages.

Promoting a social media page is much cheaper because you are keeping people on social media. This is a great way to create a following of people that like your brand/website. Whenever you make a post, some of your followers will see the post and hopefully engage with it by liking it, commenting, or clicking on the link. This strategy gives you many chances to make commissions each time you pay for a new follower. However, it will often take a longer time to turn into commissions.

Promoting your website landing pages is the fastest way to make commissions on social media. This allows you to direct people to your landing pages, where your goals it to get them to click on your affiliate links. The most effective landing pages are presale and article pages, but squeeze pages with an opt-in form also work great. However, a squeeze page takes a long time to turn into a profit. This is because you won’t get your commissions before people click on a link in your email campaigns that are sent over some time.

The most important thing with your ads is that you use eye-catching images and create curiosity. The images (or videos) are used to grab the attention, so people stop scrolling through their news feed. It can be very effective to use a red marker to highlight parts of the image. The headlines and text are used to create so much curiosity that people click your ads and go to your landing pages.
